Abstract:
A pneumatic tire in which a belt layer comprising steel cords each having a flat cross section is disposed on the circumference of a tread portion of a carcass layer in such a manner that the major axis direction of a steel cord is in the surface direction of the belt layer, in which the steel cord is constructed as a flat open 1x6 twist structure comprising filaments each having a strand diameter ranging from 0.20 to 0.40 mm, in which the major axis DL of the steel cord taken out of the tire and the twist pitch P have the following relationships relative to the strand diameter d, respectively: 3.67d-0.04 DL 3.67d+0.16, 30d P 45d, and in which the stretch of the steel cord (10) generated when the load is increased from 0.25 kg to 5.0 kg is less than 0.25 %.
