Abstract:
Provided is a pneumatic radial tire wherein durability of a circumferential belt is enhanced by preventing fatigue rupture of a steel cord.
A pneumatic radial tire (10) comprises a carcass (1) extending toroidally across a pair of right and left beads as a frame, and a belt layer (2) and a tread layer (5) laminated sequentially on the carcass (1) on the radial outside of a tire, wherein the belt layer (2) includes at least one layer of a circumferential belt (3) consisting of a plurality of steel cords formed in wave shape or zigzag shape and extending in the circumferential direction of a tire. Provided that the residual stress on the formed inside part of a filament at at least the sheath portion out of the formed filaments constituting the steel cord of the circumferential belt (3) when the steel cord is taken out is L1, and the residual stress on the outside is L2, the pneumatic radial tire (10) satisfies the following relations; -0.5≤L1/L2≤0.5, L2≤0 (wherein the plus value represents a case where the residual stress is tensile stress and the minus value represents a case of compressive stress).
