Abstract:
Provided is a pneumatic tire for a motorcycle that improves gripping properties while ensuring drainage, and which can also realize excellent wear resistance. The pneumatic tire for a motorcycle has a plurality of types of grooves on the tire tread surface, arranged in a manner such that each of said grooves converge in the forward direction of the direction of rotation of the tire. The tire also has a directional tread pattern. Furthermore, in a developmental planar view of the tread pattern, the plurality of types of grooves comprise three types of slanted lug grooves (2a-2c) that, as the same approach the tire equator (e) from the tire tread contact patch periphery, extend in a curved shape bending toward the equator side. Given that the slanted lug grooves (2a-2c) have lengths represented by α-γ, and the number of slanted lug grooves that intersect the meridian (m) of the tire is represented by n, the provided pneumatic tire for a motorcycle satisfies the following formulas: formula (I) α≤β<γ, formula (II) 1-γ/α<0.1, and formula (III) n≥4 (however, grooves are present on 60-70% of whole circumference of tire).
