Abstract:
Provided is a pneumatic tire for motorcycles that has improved wet grip properties while ensuring steering stability during turning. Disclosed is a pneumatic tire for a motorcycle, comprising, in a tread surface part, a first oblique groove 21 that extends obliquely from the vicinity of the tire equator toward outside in the tire width direction in the same direction as the tire rotating direction, and a short groove 22 arranged on an extended line from an outer end, in the tire width direction, of the first oblique groove, wherein: the outer end, in the tire width direction, of the first oblique groove is located in the vicinity of a point separated by a distance of one-fourth of the tread width TW from the tire equator toward outside in the width direction; an inner end, in the tire width direction, of the short groove is located within a range of from one-fourth to five-sixteenth of the tread width TW from the tire equator toward outside in the width direction; the angle of inclination of the first oblique groove with respect to the tire circumferential direction increases toward the outside in the width direction; and an angle θA formed between a groove wall at the outer end, in the width direction, of the first oblique groove and a direction perpendicular to the tire surface and an angle θB formed between a groove wall at the inner end, in the width direction, of the short groove and a direction perpendicular to the tire surface satisfy the relationship θA>θB.
