Abstract:
Provided is a pneumatic tire tread wherein tread pattern noise is reduced while air column sound generated by circumferential grooves is effectively suppressed. The aforementioned pneumatic tire tread is equipped with circumferential grooves (2), ribs (3), and resonators which reduce air column sound generated by the circumferential grooves. The resonators are each provided with a plurality of sets of resonators (41, 42) having a ramiform groove shape, each set consisting of at least two types. A first ramiform groove (41) has a length which is 40% or more of the tread surface length and a groove width which is 10% - 25% of the width of a circumferential groove. A second ramiform groove (42) has a length which is 40% - 90% of the length of the first ramiform groove and has a groove width which is not narrower than the width of the first ramiform groove. First openings and second openings exist alternately in the same circumferential groove. The length of the distance between the openings of adjacent first ramiform grooves is 50% or less of the tread surface length. The difference between the porosity in the minimum cross-section of each rib, which is provided with ramiform grooves, and the porosity in the maximum cross-section of the aforementioned rib is 10% or less.
