Abstract:

A pneumatic tire in which a carcass layer is constituted of organic fiber cords, air pressure corresponding to maximum load capacity is in the range of 350 - 650 kPa, a bead filler (6) is constituted of rubber layers (6a, 6b) layered in the radial direction of the tire, and a cross-sectional area S₁, hardness Hs₁, and loss tangent tan &dgr ₁ of the rubber layer (6a) of the outermost periphery side, a cross-sectional area S₂, hardness Hs₂, and loss tangent tan &dgr ₂ of the rubber layer (6b) of the innermost periphery side, and the ratio of the height BFH of the bead filler to the height SH of the cross section of the tire are set to satisfy the following relationship: (S₁ × tan &dgr ₁)/[(S₁ × tan &dgr ₁) + (S₂ × tan &dgr ₂)] = in the range of 0.25 - 0.40, (S₁ × Hs₁)/[(S₁ × Hs₁) + (S₂ × Hs₂)] = in the range of 0.35 - 0.50, BFH/SH = in the range of 0.25 - 0.60, Hs₂ - Hs₁ = in the range of 10 - 25, and tan &dgr ₁ ≤ 0.1 and tan &dgr ₂ - tan &dgr ₁ ≤ 0.1, thereby durability of the tire is improved and rolling resistance of the tire is reduced with lateral rigidity maintained.
