Abstract:

A pneumatic tire having satisfactory durability and driving stability for high-speed travel of the vehicle (that is, when the tire is rotated at high speed). The pneumatic tire is provided with: a carcass; a crossing belt which is provided on the outer peripheral side of the crown section of the carcass and which consists of two oblique belt layers each having cords extending in such a direction that the cords of each oblique belt layer cross each other and extend across the equatorial surface; and a circumferential belt layer which is provided to either on the inner side or on the outer side of the crossing belt in the radial direction and which is disposed by winding a spiral cord at a tilt angle less than or equal to 5˚ relative to the equatorial surface. In a first oblique belt layer of the two oblique belt layers which form the crossing belt, the tilt angle of the cords of the first oblique belt layer relative to the equatorial surface is within the range of not less than 45˚ but not more than 90˚, and in the second oblique belt layer, the tilt angle of the cords thereof is not less than 15˚ but not more than 45˚ relative to the equatorial surface and is less than the tilt angle of the cords of the first oblique belt layer.
