Abstract:
In order to improve steering stability by increasing cornering power in all load ranges, particularly in a low load range, a pneumatic tire is provided with, on the tread section (2): a pair of crown circumferential grooves (3) that extend on either side of the center line of the tire (C); a crown rib (5) between the crown circumferential grooves (3), and middle ribs (6) between the crown circumferential grooves (3) and the shoulder circumferential grooves (4), by providing a pair of shoulder circumferential grooves (4) that extend between the crown circumferential grooves (3) and the margins of a ground contact tread (2t); and shoulder ribs (7) between the shoulder circumferential grooves (4) and the margins of the ground contact tread (2t). The groove volume ratio Rc, which is a ratio of the total volume of the grooves and sipes to the rib volume of the crown rib (5), the groove volume ratio Rm of the middle ribs (6), and the groove rib ratio Rs of the shoulder ribs (7) satisfy the relationship, Rc ≤ Rm ≤ Rs.
