Abstract:

Provided is a pneumatic tire which includes an annular decorative band and one or more emblems on the outer surface of a sidewall of the tire, wherein the outer appearance of the tire is never impaired while a high visibility is maintained for the emblems and manufacturing costs can be reduced for vulcanization molding. This pneumatic tire includes, on the outer surface (7a) of the sidewall (7) of the tire, the annular decorative band (8) formed of a number of ridges (8a) and the one or more emblems (9) made up of a predetermined character, symbol, or design. This pneumatic tire is adapted such that the decorative band (8) is extended both inwardly and outwardly in the radial direction of the tire from a position corresponding to a turnover end (5c) of a carcass; the width of the decorative band (8) is less than the maximum length of the emblems (9) in the radial direction of the tire, the emblems (9) being disposed to overlap the decorative band (8); and the emblems (9) are disposed to protrude either outwardly or inwardly in the radial direction of the tire from the position where the emblems (9) overlap with the decorative band (8).
