Abstract:

A pneumatic tire (1) has provided in the tread (2) thereof: a pair of center main grooves (3) arranged on both sides of the equator (C) of the tire; a pair of shoulder main grooves (4) arranged on both sides of the pair of center main grooves (3); and middle lands (6) arranged on both sides of the equator (C) of the tire and defined between the center main grooves (3) and the shoulder main grooves (4). The middle lands (6) are provided with middle tilted grooves (10). The middle tilted grooves (10) extend toward the equator (C) of the tire from the outer ends (10o) of the middle tilted grooves (10) in the axial direction of the tire, the outer ends (10o) connecting to the shoulder main grooves (4). The inner ends (10i) of the middle tilted grooves (10) in the axial direction of the tire terminate without reaching the center main grooves (3). Outer shallow bottom sections (12) having a depth less than the maximum depth of the middle tilted grooves (10) are provided on the outer end (10o) side of the middle tilted grooves (10).
