Abstract:
A pneumatic tire is provided with a tread section and side sections. The tread section has shoulder main grooves and shoulder land sections. The following are defined in a meridional cross-section of the tread section: a first imaginary line passing through a ground contact surface; a second imaginary line passing through the bottom section of a shoulder main groove and parallel to the first imaginary line; the point of intersection between the second imaginary line and the surface of a shoulder land section; and the equatorial plane of the tire. If the distance between the equatorial plane of the tire and the point of intersection in the width direction of the tire is A, the depth of the shoulder main groove is B, and the distance between the equatorial plane of the tire and a ground contact end in the width direction of the tire is C, the relationship of 0.80 ≤(B + C)/A ≤ 1.15 is satisfied.
