Abstract:
Provided is a pneumatic tire wherein slits are made in a belt-like noise absorbing material adhering to the inner surface of the tire in order to improve the durability of the belt-like noise absorbing material by attenuating stress generated in the belt-like noise absorbing material when the tire is brought into contact with the ground, and allow high-speed durability to be improved by facilitating the radiation of heat from the belt-like noise absorbing material. In this vehicle mounting direction-specified pneumatic tire, a belt-like noise absorbing material 6 adheres to the inner surface of a tread 1 along the circumferential direction of the tire. A plurality of slits 7 are formed in the belt-like noise absorbing material 6 so as to cross each other at angles θ1, θ2 in the range of 0º ≤ θ1 ≤ 90º and 0º≤ θ2 ≤ 90º with respect to the width direction of the tire. The slits 7 are locally arranged in a region adjacent to the vehicle-inside-end of the belt-like noise absorbing material 6. The width Wc of the region where the slits 7 are arranged is 10% to 80% of the width Ws of the belt-like noise absorbing material 6.
