Abstract:
Provided is a pneumatic tire that makes it possible to improve noise performance in addition to improving both steering stability performance on dry road surfaces and steering stability performance on wet road surfaces by adjusting the chamfered shape of a sipe. Each of sipes 11 comprises a leading edge 11A and a trailing edge 11B. A chamfered section 12 that is shorter than the sipe length L of the sipes 11 is formed on each of the edges 11A, 11B. A part facing the individual chamfered sections 12 in the sipes 11 has an unchamfered area 13 in which no other chamfered sections are present. Among the ends 11C, 11D of the sipes 11, one end 11C opens into a main groove and the other end 11D terminates within a rib 10. The maximum depth x (mm) of the sipes 11 and the maximum depth y (mm) of the chamfered sections 12 satisfy the relationship expressed by formula (1). The sipe width W of the sipes 11 is constant in a range from an end of the chamfered sections 12 positioned on the inner side in the tire radial direction to the groove bottoms of the sipes 11.
