Provided is a pneumatic tire in which notches are formed in the outer peripheral surface of a belt-shaped sound-absorbing member bonded to the tire inner surface, whereby it is possible to mitigate stress occurring in the belt-shaped sound-absorbing member, the stress accompanying growth in the outer diameter of the tire during inflation of the tire, to improve the durability of the belt-shaped sound-absorbing member, to promote dissipation of heat from the belt-shaped sound-absorbing member, and to improve high-speed durability. A pneumatic tire provided with a tread section 1 extending in the tire circumference direction and having an annular shape, a pair of sidewall sections 2 disposed on both sides of the tread section 1, and a pair of bead sections 3 disposed on the inner sides of the sidewall sections 2 in the tire-diameter direction, a belt-shaped sound-absorbing member 6 being bonded to the inner surface of the tread section 1 along the tire circumference direction, wherein the pneumatic tire has a plurality of notches 7 on the outer peripheral surface of the belt-shaped sound-absorbing member 6, and at least one end of each notch 7 terminates on the inner side of the belt-shaped sound-absorbing member 6.
