Title:
PNEUMATIC TIRE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2018/047764
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a pneumatic tire in which, by devising a sipe chamfer shape, it is possible to achieve both improvement in steering stability performance on dry road surfaces and improvement in steering stability performance on wet road surfaces. A sipe 11 has, on each of a tread-in side edge 11A and a kick-out side edge 11B, a chamfer section 12 and a non-chamfer region 13 in which other chamfer sections are not present. The maximum depth y (mm) of the chamfer sections 12 is shallower than the maximum depth x (mm) of the sipe 11, and the sipe width W of the sipe 11 is substantially constant. In a cross-sectional view perpendicular to a lengthwise direction of the sipe 11, at least one chamfer section 12 has an outline OL that becomes more convex toward the outside in a tire radial direction than a chamfer reference line RL connecting end sections of the chamfer section 12, and the cross-sectional area a of a chamfer region Ra that is surrounded by the outline OL, the sipe, and a tread surface of a tread section 1 is less than the cross-sectional area b of a reference region Rb that is surrounded by the chamfer reference line RL, the sipe 11, and the tread surface.
