Abstract:
Provided is a pneumatic tire in which snow performance is improved by modifying the chamfered shape of sipes, and which combines improved steering stability on dry road surfaces and improved steering stability on wet road surfaces. Chamfered parts 12 are formed on the stepping-in-side edge 11A and stepping-out-side edge 11B of the sipe 11. Each of the sipes 11 has a non-chamfered area 13 in which other chamfered parts are not present. At least one of the chamfered parts 12 has an outer edge line EL which is not parallel with the ridge line of the sipe 11 in the plan view of the tread part 1. If the chamfered part 12 having an outside edge line EL that is not parallel to the ridge line of the sipe 11 is divided into an inside area AIN and outside area AOUT by halving the length of the chamfered length of the chamfered part 12 in the tire width direction, the projected area Oa of the outside area AOUT positioned towards the outside of the rib 10 is greater than the projected area Ia of the inside area AIN positioned towards the inside of the rib 10.
