Abstract:

In order to achieve both external damage resistance and fuel-saving performance, a pneumatic tire 1 is provided with a plurality of protrusions 30 which are formed on at least one of tire side portions 20 positioned on both sides in the tire width direction and which protrude from a tire side surface 21 of the tire side portion 20 so as to extend along the tire side surface 21. Each of the protrusions 30 comprises at least one curved section 40 where the extended direction of the protrusion 30 is changed, and a plurality of extended sections 50 defined by the curved section 40. In the case where, among the plurality of extended sections 50, an extended section 50 that is disposed on the outermost side in the tire radial direction is a first extended section 51, any one of the extended sections 50 excluding the first extended section 51 is a highest extended section 56 that is an extended section 50 having the greatest average extension section height of average extension section heights which are the respective average heights of the extended sections 50. The tire side portions 20 each have a thickness Ga of 2-9 mm at the maximum tire width position W.
