Abstract:
This pneumatic tire achieves both low rolling resistance and shock burst resistance. A carcass layer 13 is constituted by carcass cords made of organic fiber cords obtained by twisting together filament bundles of organic fibers. The carcass layer has turned up sections 131 at which the ends of a pair of beads 10 are rolled back outwardly in the tire width direction. An elongation at break EB of the carcass cords satisfies the condition of EB≧15%. A belt angle θc of a belt layer 14 in a width range of 10% of the width of a belt 142, which is the second widest belt of the belt layer 14, to the left and right from a tire equator line in the tire width direction, satisfies the condition of 0.351rad≦θc≦0.56rad. The elongation at break EB of the carcass cords and the belt angle θc satisfy the condition of 700<1140×θc+20×EB<1400.
