Abstract:
Disclosed is a pneumatic tyre with excellent tyre frictional properties on ice, performance on ice, and in particular braking performance on ice. Further, the pneumatic tyre is provided with a plurality of major grooves disposed on a tread surface positioned between the edge parts of two treads and extending in a circumferential direction of the tyre; and a plurality of lateral grooves disposed between the major grooves and/or between the major grooves and the end parts of the tread, extending in the width direction of the tyre, provided with one flexing point so as to form a convex shape in the circumferential direction of the tyre; and a plurality of blocks shaped so as to have a projection in the circumferential direction defined by the convex shape of the lateral grooves. The blocks are provided with at least one lateral sipe extending in the width direction of the tyre in a shape corresponding to the lateral grooves. The lateral sipes enable the width direction measurement of the tyre, projected onto a plane intersecting with the block surfaces at right angles including the axis line of rotation of the tyre, to be equivalent to the width direction measure of the tyre projected onto the same plane when the blocks are provided with the lateral sipes.
