A pocket spring encapsulation device and method. Said device comprises: a cloth conveying mechanism (10) for conveying cloth along a predetermined path; a spring compressing and conveying mechanism (20) for compressing and conveying a spring into the cloth; a welding encapsulation mechanism (30) for welding the cloth to form shaped welding seams (1), so as to separate springs and encapsulate same in the cloth, the shaped welding seams (1) having at least one section of an oblique line or an arc, adjacent shaped welding seams (1) being symmetrically distributed and at least a part of a space region (2) being located therebetween; and a cloth pulling mechanism (40) for pulling out the pocket spring after the welding encapsulation. The shaped welding seams (1) form cavities each for accommodating a single spring, front-rear adjacent springs are spaced apart and wrapped in front and rear cavities; as the shaped welding seams (1) are symmetrically distributed and the shaped welding seams (1) of the oblique line or arc portion form a relatively large space region (2), reducing the usage amount of the springs, and the pocket spring string formed after the encapsulation is completed is pulled out, and finally a specially-shaped pocket spring string is formed; the production operation is simple and quick, and the efficiency is high.
