A pod propeller and a ship. The pod propeller comprises a propeller body (1), a traversing mechanism (2) and a tilting mechanism (3), wherein the traversing mechanism (2) is arranged on a deck (101) of a ship body (10), the propeller body (1) is movably arranged on the traversing mechanism (2), the traversing mechanism (2) drives the propeller body (1) to extend out of a ship side or retract to the inside of the ship side, the tilting mechanism (3) is arranged on the traversing mechanism (2), the tilting mechanism (3) is in transmission connection with the propeller body (1), and when the propeller body (1) extends out of the ship side, the tilting mechanism (3) drives the propeller body (1) to rotate to an operation position relative to the traversing mechanism (2). According to the pod propeller, the propeller body is rapidly mounted on a ship by means of the traversing mechanism without dragging the ship into a dry dock for modification, the mounting difficulty and the mounting cost of the propeller body are reduced, and the mounting efficiency of the propeller body is improved.
