Abstract:
A point cloud coding method, a point cloud decoding method and a related device, the point cloud coding method comprising: obtaining three-dimensional position coordinates of each point cloud point in a point cloud, and identifiers of the point cloud points in the point cloud; performing partition coding on the position coordinates of the point cloud in some dimensions (one or two dimensions); using the identifier of each point cloud point to code the point cloud in the other dimensions besides the foregoing one or two dimensions, thereby achieving the coding of the point cloud in three dimensions to obtain a code stream. Hence, only the position coordinates on the point cloud in some dimensions need to undergo partition coding, which prevents the position coordinates in the three dimensions from all directly undergoing partition coding. The identifiers of the point cloud points may also be used for coding, which greatly shortens the coding time and improves the performance of coding compression.
