Abstract:
The present application provides a polar code rate matching method and apparatus, capable of reducing a search space of a codeword domain during selection of a rate matching solution for polar codes. The method comprises: determining a first index set corresponding to N bits to be coded, wherein the first index set comprises indices of Z polarized channels in which forced frozen bits are placed, the Z polarized channels are a subset of N polarized channels corresponding to the N bits to be coded, N = 2n, Z < N, and n and Z are positive integers; obtaining a first codeword with the length being N, the first codeword being obtained by performing polarization coding on the N bits to be coded; performing rate matching on the first codeword according to the first index set to obtain a second codeword with the length being M, wherein M < N and M is a positive integer; and sending the second codeword with the length being M.
