Abstract:

A polarization-maintaining gain optical fiber having an elliptical cladding and a large mode field diameter. The optical fiber comprises: a fiber core (201) of the polarization-maintaining gain optical fiber having an elliptical cladding and a large mode field diameter; an inner cladding layer (202) surrounding the fiber core (201); an elliptical stress layer (203) surrounding the inner cladding layer (202), wherein the elliptical stress layer (203) is in an elliptical shape on the cross section of the polarization-maintaining gain optical fiber having an elliptical cladding and a large mode field diameter; a first outer cladding layer (204) surrounding the elliptical stress layer (203); a second outer cladding layer (205) surrounding the first outer cladding layer (204); and a third outer cladding layer (204) surrounding the second cladding layer (205). The preparation process of the optical fiber is simple, and the birefringence and pump absorption of the fiber are improved.
