Abstract:
Provided are a polarizer and a liquid crystal display screen. The polarizer comprises the following sequentially attached components: a first protection layer (10), a first polarizing layer (20), a quarter-wave plate (30), a second polarizing layer (40), and a second protection layer (50). A portion of the second polarizing layer (40) positioned in a display region of a liquid crystal display screen has a polarization function. Respective absorption axes of the first polarizing layer (20) and the second polarizing layer (40) have an axial angle of 0 ± 5 or 90 ± 5 degrees, such that natural light can sequentially pass through the first polarizing layer (20), the quarter-wave plate (30), and the second polarizing layer (40) and then be reflected by a metallic portion of the liquid crystal display screen to sequentially pass through the second polarizing layer (40), the quarter-wave plate (30), and the first polarizing layer (20). Such arrangement enables light to be fully absorbed by the first polarizing layer (20) and the second polarizing layer (40). Moreover, the axial angles of the absorption axes of the first polarizing layer (20) and the second polarizing layer (40) are configured such that the first polarizing layer (20) and the second polarizing layer (40) can absorb different linearly polarized light, thereby reducing light reflected by a metallic portion.
