Abstract:
A polarizer and a manufacturing method therefor, a display panel, and a display device, relating to the technical field of display, and for use in resolving the problem that current polarizers cannot be used in display devices of high-energy excitation light sources such as projection display due to poor weatherability. A polarizer (1) comprises an orientation layer (11), and a plurality of orientation structures (12) formed in trenches (10) of the orientation layer (11). The major axis direction of the orientation structures (12) is parallel to the length direction of the trenches (10). The orientation structures (12) are capable of large-scale deformation, directional motion, and self-rotation under the influence of an external electric field, so as to implement polarization orientation of light. The polarizer (1) has high design integration, a simple process, and low costs. The polarizer (1) is applicable to different display devices. In addition, the polarizer (1) employs a liquid metal with great weatherability as a basic material, and therefore can be applied to display devices of optical energy light sources such as a laser source.
