Abstract:
This polarizer has a substrate and a plurality of protrusions that protrude from the substrate; in a plan view, the plurality of protrusions extend in a first direction and are arrayed periodically; each protrusion has a reflective layer and a tip portion; the tip portion is located further away from the substrate than the reflective layer; the tip portion gradually increases in width from a first end that is the tip end toward a second end on the substrate side in a first cross-section perpendicular to the substrate and the first direction; a first surface of the tip portion includes a first continuous curved surface.
