Abstract:
A polarizer which is formed of a polyvinyl alcohol film, and which contains boron and potassium. The boron content in the polarizer is from 4% by weight to 6% by weight (inclusive); and the value obtained by multiplying the boron content (weight%) by the potassium content (weight%) is 1.2 or more. This polarizer has excellent suppression effect on deterioration of the optical characteristics in high temperature environments.
