Abstract:
This polarizer comprises a durability-improving layer on at least one surface thereof. The durability-improving layer is formed from a curable composition containing a compound (A) for which the increase in pH is not more than 3.0 even if 0.5 equivalents of a basic component is added in a titration test carried out at 60°C. The compound (A) is preferably γ-butyrolactone (meth)acrylate. In addition, it is preferable for at least a part of the compound (A) contained in the curable composition to be polymerized. The curable composition preferably further contains a polymerization initiator. The durability-improving layer is preferably formed from a layer of a cured product of the curable composition.
