Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide polarizing eyeglasses with which a 3D image being observed is excellently visible. The polarizing eyeglasses having a right-eye lens and a left-eye lens worn by an observer when observing a three-dimensional image that uses circularly polarized light, the right-eye lens including a laminate [I] constituted by a polarizing plate and a retardation plate which is laminated so that, on measuring a phase difference at a wavelength of 540 nm, the slow axis of the retardation plate forms an angle of 46° - 50° counterclockwise (when viewed) from the retardation plate relative to the absorption axis of the polarizing plate, and the left-eye lens including a laminate [II] constituted by the polarizing plate and the retardation plate which is laminated so that, on measuring a phase difference at a wavelength of 540 nm, the slow axis of the retardation plate forms an angle of 40° - 44° clockwise (when viewed) from the retardation plate relative to the absorption axis of the polarizing plate. The polarizing plate is disposed on the observer side, and the retardation plate is disposed on the image side.
