Disclosed is a polarizing film having a transparent protection film laminated on at least one surface of a polarizer with an adhesive layer therebetween, the polarizing film including, on the lamination surface of the polarizer, an adhesion-improving layer interposed between the polarizer and the adhesive layer. Particularly, it is preferable that the adhesion-improving layer is formed on the lamination surface of the polarizer by providing, on the lamination surface of the polarizer, a compound represented by general formula (1) (wherein X is a functional group including a reactive group, and R1 and R2 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, or an aliphatic hydrocarbon group, an aryl group or a heterocyclic group that may include a substituent), or an organometallic compound including an M-O bond in the structural formula thereof (wherein M is silicon, titanium, aluminum, or zirconium, and O represents an oxygen atom).
