Abstract:
Disclosed are: a polarizing material having good heat resistance, which can be an alternative to a dye; a coating material for polarizing film production, which contains the polarizing material; and a polarizing film.
Specifically disclosed are: a polarizing material which is composed of metal-plated nanowires that are obtained by forming metal plating layers having a thickness of 1-15 nm on the surfaces of nanowires that are composed of dielectric bodies having an average diameter of 20-300 nm and an average length of 0.4 μm or more; a coating material for polarizing film production, which contains the polarizing material; and a polarizing film.
