Abstract:
The present application relates to a polarizing plate and use thereof. The present application may provide a polarizing plate including a retardation layer exhibiting an ultraviolet blocking property even in a state where no ultraviolet absorber or light stabilizer is blended therein. In addition, the present application may provide a polarizing plate which: exhibits a constant ultraviolet blocking property even in the absence of a ultraviolet absorber or light stabilizer and thus can selectively block ultraviolet rays in an area that needs to be blocked, by the polarizing plate alone or in combination with an appropriate ultraviolet screening agent or light stabilizer as necessary, without affecting display performance of a display device, such as color and image quality; and requires no separate ultraviolet blocking layer and thus not only can be formed thin but also has an excellent durability.
