The present disclosure relates to polishing media which are used for mirror polishing that is performed by means of barrel polishing, and each of which is provided with a granular material that is configured from a plant material and a coating layer that is provided on the surface of the granular material. The coating layer is configured from abrasive grains and an oil agent that contains a fatty acid.
