Abstract:
A brush-form grindstone (3) of a polishing brush (1) is provided with a brush holder (6) and a filiform material aggregate (7) detachably held in the brush holder (6). The filiform material aggregate (7) is provided with bundles (51) of multiple wire rods (50) obtained by impregnating aggregated fibers of inorganic filament with a resin and solidifying the impregnated fibers, and wire rod holders (70) holding the ends of the bundles (51). The wire rod holders (70) of the filiform material aggregate (7) are detachably fastened in each of a plurality of holding holes (68) that open on one surface side in the direction of an axis (L) of the brush holder (6). If a defect such as bending occurs in any of the filiform material aggregates (7), only the required filiform material aggregate (7) needs to be replaced, without requiring the entire brush-like grindstone (3) to be discarded. The cost associated with the polishing step can thus be reduced.
