Abstract:
The present invention provides a (poly)alkylene glycol-containing compound that has more excellent detergency for a combined stain in which a hydrophilic stain and a hydrophobic stain are combined, as compared with conventional (poly)alkylene glycol-containing compounds. The present invention is a (poly)alkylene glycol-containing compound characterized by having a hydrophobic structural moiety (A) and a (poly)alkylene glycol moiety (B) and further having at least two lactam ring-containing structural units (C) in a structure of the (poly)alkylene glycol-containing compound, wherein the content proportion of the hydrophobic structural moiety (A) is 2.5-60 mass% with respect to 100 mass% of the (poly)alkylene glycol-containing compound, and the hydrophobic structural moiety (A) is derived from at least one compound selected from the group consisting of acyclic hydrocarbon compounds each having 1-50 carbon atoms and optionally having a heteroatom, cyclic saturated hydrocarbon compounds each having 3-50 carbon atoms and optionally having a heteroatom, heterocyclic compounds each having 1-50 carbon atoms, and aromatic compounds each having 6-50 carbon atoms and optionally having a heteroatom, when the hydrophobic structural moiety (A) is located at a terminal of the (poly)alkylene glycol-containing compound, the structure derived from the aromatic compound having 6-50 carbon atoms is a group represented by formula (1): -R1-A1 (1) (in the formula, R1 represents an alkylene group having 1-30 carbon atoms and optionally having a direct bond or a heteroatom, and A1 represents an aromatic group having 6-42 carbon atoms and having no substituent).
