Abstract:
A process for producing a compound having an anthraquinone skeleton, which is a medical compound, agrichemical compound, dye compound, compound for photographic materials, etc. The compound is a polycyclic compound represented by the following general formula (I): (wherein R1 represents hydrogen, hydroxy, halogeno, optionally substituted C1-10 alkoxy, etc.; R2's may be the same or different and each independently represents halogeno, hydroxy, cyano, nitro, optionally substituted amino, etc.; R3's may be the same or different and each independently represents halogeno, hydroxy, optionally substituted C1-10 alkoxycarbonyl, etc.; m is an integer of 0 to 3; and n is an integer of 0 to 6) and having an enantiomeric excess of 85 %e.e. or higher.
