Abstract:
A polyester false-twisted yarn effectively used as yarn for cloth and knitting and having excellent water absorbing and quick drying performances, wherein the requirements satisfied are such that (1) each of the cross sections of a plurality of single filaments forming a thread line comprises 3 to 6 recessed parts, and the ratio of the averaged value of the quantities of the recessed parts having the ratios (H/W) of the depths of the recessed parts (H) to the opening widths (W) thereof of 0.3 or more to all quantity of the recessed parts shall be 50 to 80%, (2) the averaged value of the coefficients of flatness of cross sections shall be 1.5 to 3.5, and (3) the standard deviation of the coefficients of flatness of cross sections shall be 0.3 to 1.0.
