Abstract:
The present invention relates to polyester fiber usable for fabric for an airbag, and more particularly, to polyester fiber for an airbag and to a polyester fabric comprising same, in which the polyester fiber has a modulus of 60g/d or less in the elongation range of 2.0 to 3.0%, a modulus of 45 to 70 g/d in the elongation range of 9.0 to 11.0%, and a modulus of 60g/d or more in the elongation range of 12.0 to 14%. When used in fabric for an airbag, the above-described polyester fiber enables the airbag to be easily installed in a vehicle, provides excellent protective performance for a passenger, and effectively prevents the escape of air, and minimizes the impact applied to a passenger so as to safely protect the passenger upon the occurrence of a vehicular crash.
