Abstract:
It is intended to provide a polyester fiber for reinforcing high heat resistant rubber capable of retaining the shape even at a high temperature, particularly at a temperature not lower than the melting point of polyester without lowering the productivity. A polyester composite fiber having a core/sheath structure in which a crosslinked structure is formed in at least part of the fiber by obtaining a core/sheath composite polyester fiber using polyester obtained by reacting a compound having an unsaturated bond at a polyester molecular chain end and subjecting the obtained composite polyester fiber to ionizing radiation. A tire cord using the polyester fiber, and a radial tire using the tire cord as a carcass material.
