Abstract:
The present invention provides a polyester film which satisfies a stress heat resistant coefficient f(125)≥3, which has a wet thermo retention rate (= 100 × S(120)/S(0)) of at least 30%, which has excellent resistance to hydrolysis and also excellent heat resistance under dry thermo, and which has a mechanical strength that is maintained in a stable manner, and the present invention also provides a method for manufacturing the polyester film [f(125) is the value obtained by substituting t = 125°C in the approximation f(t); t is the thermo temperature [°C]; f(t) is an approximation to a straight line obtained by linear approximation by the least squares method of the values plotted from the relationship between the thermo temperature t and the logarithm log T(t) of the time T at which the breaking stress is 50% when t = 150, 160, 170 and 180; T(t) is the time (hr) at which the maximum stress in a tensile test after thermo processing (temperature t, 0% RH) is 50% prior to thermo processing; S(120) is the breaking elongation (%) after the elapse of 100 hours at 120°C, 100% RH; and S(0) is the breaking elongation (%) before the aforementioned elapse of time].
