Abstract:
A copolyester film which has a degree of plane orientation of from 0.04 to 0.15 and wherein the copolyester has a reduced viscosity of from 0.8 to 1.6 dl/g and comprises a dicarboxylic acid component based on terephthalic acid and a diol component containing 1,4-butanediol and at least one diol represented by general formula (I) HO-[-(CH2CH2)m0-]-n-H in a specified proportion; and another copolyester film containing, in addition, at least one member selected from the group consisting of compounds represented by general formulae (II) and (III) and fatty acid esters of sorbitan. These films have excellent heat resistance, odor barrier properties and self-adhesiveness, a moderate flexibility, and a persistent stable modulus of elasticity, and are particularly suited as a food wrapping film. In formula (I), m is 1 or 2, and n is an integer of 2 to 4 when m is 1, while n is an integer of 6 to 55 when m is 2. In formula (II) 1 is an integer of 0 to 3, and R represents an alkyl residue of a C8-C22 (un)saturated fatty acid. In formula (III), R represents an alkyl residue of a C8-C22 (un)saturated fatty acid.
