Abstract:
The present invention was completed by discovering, as a result of an investigation to solve a problem, a heat sealable polyester resin that can be used in a food-related application and that has excellent adhesive properties with various polystyrene, polyvinyl chloride, amorphous polyethylene terephthalate (A-PET), or polypropylene, etc., containers having different characteristics. [Problem] To provide a polyester resin having excellent adhesive properties with various base materials such as polystyrene, polyvinyl chloride, and A-PET. [Solution] A polyester resin comprising a polyvalent carboxylic acid component and a polyvalent alcohol component as structural units, wherein: when the polyvalent alcohol component is 100 mol%, a diethylene glycol component is at least 60 mol%; and the glass transition temperature thereof is no more than 20°C.
