Abstract:
A polyester resin composition for damping materials which includes a thermoplastic polyester resin (A) formed from a dicarboxylic acid component and a diol component, a plasticizer (B) represented by general formula (I), and an inorganic filler (C). This composition is suitable for use as the material for audio equipment such as speakers, or as a damping material in products such as electrical goods or in the components and casing for such products. (In the formula: A1 and A2 each independently represent a C4–18 alkyl group, a C7–18 aralkyl group, or a mono- or diether of a (poly)oxyalkylene adduct of said groups; n is 0 or 1; X represents any of -SO2-, -O-, -CR1R2-, and -S-, wherein R1 and R2 each independently represent H or an alkyl group having four or less carbon atoms; and R3 and R4 each independently represent any of -O-, -CO-, and -CH2-, provided that R3 and R4 do not simultaneously represent -O-.)
