Abstract:
Disclosed are: a polyester resin for a toner, which is obtained by condensation polymerizing a carboxylic acid component and an alcohol component, and which is characterized in that a specific aromatic compound is used as the carboxylic acid component and/or the alcohol component; a polyester resin for a toner, which is obtained by condensation polymerizing a reaction product that is obtained by having a specific aromatic compound and a carboxylic acid having a reactive unsaturated group react with each other, a carboxylic acid component and an alcohol component; a binder resin for a toner, which contains the polyester resin for a toner; and a toner for electrophotography, which contains the binder resin. The polyester resin for a toner is suitable for use as a binder resin for a toner that is used for development of latent images that are formed in an electrophotographic method, an electrostatic recording method, an electrostatic printing method and the like.
