Abstract:
The present invention relates to a polyester resin for toners, which contains a monomer unit derived from isosorbide and a monomer unit derived from 1,2-propane diol and has a glass transition point (Tg) of 56-70°C, and wherein the ratio of the monomer unit derived from isosorbide is 2-11% by mass relative to the total mass of the polyester resin. The present invention is able to provide: a polyester resin for toners, which is capable of providing a toner that has excellent storage stability, fixability, hot offset resistance and image stability in the cases where isosorbide is used; and a method for producing the polyester resin for toners. A toner which is obtained from the polyester resin for toners of the present invention has excellent storage stability, fixability, hot offset resistance and image stability in the cases where isosorbide is used.
