Abstract:
Disclosed is a toner for electrostatic charge development, which contains a polyester resin as a binder resin and has excellent toner properties including low-temperature fixing properties, blocking resistance and off-set resistance. Also disclosed is a polyester resin for a toner, which is used in the above-mentioned toner. The binder resin to be used in the toner is a polyester resin comprising (1) an aromatic dicarboxylic acid and (2) a disproportionated rosin as acid components and (3) a polyhydric alcohol having a valenty of 3 or more as an alcohol component, wherein the ratio of the content of the alcohol component (3) to the content of the acid component (1) (i.e., a (3)/(1) ratio) is 1.05 to 1.65 by mole and the ratio of the content of the acid component (2) to the content of the acid component (1) (i.e., a (2)/(1) ratio) is 0.40 to 2.60 by mole.
