Abstract:
 In the present invention, a polyetherimide-based fiber contains a polyetherimide-based resin and at least 0.03% by weight of carbon black. The primary particles of the carbon black have a number-average particle size of 30-500 nm. The weight decrease rate of the polyetherimide-based resin at around the glass transition temperature (Tg) is less than 0.5%, as determined by formula (1). Weight decrease rate (%)=((fiber weight at temperature T1)–(fiber weight at temperature T2))/(fiber weight at temperature T1) × 100 … (1) In the formula, T1 represents a temperature 15˚C lower than the glass transition point (Tg–15˚C) and T2 represents a temperature 25˚C higher than the glass transition point (Tg+25˚C).
