Abstract:
[Problem] To provide: an effective process for producing a poly(ethylene glycol)-b-poly(halomethylstyrene); a novel poly(ethylene glycol)-b-poly(halomethylstyrene) produced by the process; and derivatives thereof.
[Solution] The novel copolymer can be provided by introducing a functional group which renders reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization possible into the ω-terminal of poly(ethylene glycol) and copolymerizing the resultant poly(ethylene glycol) with a halomethylstyrene.
