Abstract:
Disclosed is a fiber composed of a polylactic acid and having excellent strength,
heat resistance and thermal shrinkage resistance. Also disclosed is a method
for producing such a fiber. Specifically disclosed is a fiber composed of a composition
containing (i) a poly(L-lactic acid) having a weight average molecular weight
of 50,000-300,000 (component A), (ii) a poly(D-lactic acid) having a weight
average molecular weight of 50,000-300,000 (component B), and (iii) a phosphoric
acid ester metal salt (component C) in an amount of 0.01-5 parts by weight per 100
parts by weight of the total of the component A and the component B. This fiber
has a strength of 2.5-10 cN/dTex. Also specifically disclosed is a method for
producing such a fiber.
